Our last day at the market !
Today was the last fundraiser event that we were holding before we leave for Ethiopia (Only 26 days left but who's counting !LOL)....
We had a great morning... we were selling tickets on a cross stich that was donated to us by Marie-Helene Leblanc (Thank you again!) in order for us to be able to raise more funds. We even had a local company donate the frame (Kay's Custom Framing) which was worth over $320 !!! Everyone thought it was beautiful. It has so much work and lots of beeding and well everyone that saw it really wanted to win it !
We also had baked goods but we sold more of tickets so that was alright !
The market seemed to less busy after Christmas (this is what the other vendors were telling us). We don't go often enough to know the difference but we were very glad of our day ! The additionnal funds we are putting directly towards bringing school and medical supply for the children we will be working with in a few weeks !
But the greatest thing about today is that there is always a 50/50 draw each Satuday morning for all the vendors and this morning WE ACTUALLY WON !! It was $120 dollars so that was a nice suprise, we were really excited !! We will be using the funds to purchase medication and supply that we will need to go to Ethiopia so it worked out very well !
