Our Fundraiser event !!!!

Well we had wonderful weather today which is soooo great !!! It was really great of my parents to offer to lend us their parking lot to do our yard sale, it attracted a lot of people that's for sure.
We were up at 6 a.m..... and went to my parents's business which is where we were having the fundraiser to start taking the stuff out..... We could not beleive the amount of stuff that was donated for our yard sale from friends, family and people we didn't even know..... (there is even some families that came to the yard sale, when they saw what we were raising the funds for, turned around went home and came back with a van full of stuff for us to sell) I found that to be really heartwarming !!!
The event was a great sucess, however could not have been possible with all the help I received... Thanks to each and everyone of you even the ones that could not be present but were thinking about us ! I will never be able to thank you ALL enough for all the donations that we received either.... Pierre's grandmother Claudia who is over 80 was there to help and even Uncle Robert came all the way from Halifax with a trailer full of stuff for us to sell !
There is a lot of people that came and mentionned the article in the paper which I found was great and some people only stopped to give us a donation without even buying anything...
We had a BBQ for lunch and then finished the day around 4 p.m. My dad had also made t-shirts for us to wear which was nice as people could see who was working and who was shopping :) On the t-shirts it says "Making a Difference" and on the back there was a map showing where Ethiopia is in Africa with "You have helped a child today" !!
As for the funds raised with the ticket sale, bake sale, yard sale and BBQ, we raised just little over $2,800 in all ! With these funds, we will be able to sponsor a school in Ethiopia as well as buy needed things for the orpanages and the foster home where our children wait for us....
A lot of children will be able to benefit from our hard work which is really AWSOME!!!
Thanks again everyone !

Hi Lisa and Pierre.
We're so glad you had such a wonderful day, and we can all recognize that putting something like this together requires a great deal of effort well before the actual day itself. You are truly an inspiration. Thank you for spreading the message that everyone can make a difference if they put their minds to it. We're glad you received our donation but we wish we could have been there to help. You were certainly in our thoughts from here in Newfoundland. We can't wait to meet our nephew(s) or neice(s). They will be specially blessed when they neet you!

Lisa & Pierre;
So glad to hear everything went well the whole day long - as soon as I saw how organized everyone was (with the t-shirts from your dad and the amount of stuff available) I knew it was going to be a success! Ken, Jack and I appreciate being given such an easy venue to help support your babies birth country.
