We are officially bringing two little ones home !!!!
Our dossier has officially been approved and is being sent to Fredericton where one last piece will be attached and then it will be forwarded on to our agency in Manitoba. It should be there by next Friday.
It is such a relief to know that everything was done in time and that there were no corrections needed to be made in our assessment (thanks to our wonderful social worker !!). We are overjoyed and cannot even explain in words how this feels. All of our hard work in he last 5 months have definitly paid off.
We have been approved to adopt two infants between the ages of newborn and 18 months. We have said that we would accept twins or siblings as well so it will be fun to see which children will be matched with our family.
Its fun to know that no matter what we will be bringing two little angels home !!! Pierre and I feel so lucky to be on this wonderful journey to our children. Most of the days it feels like a dream, however when we reached these types of milestones, it begin to feel more real with every day that passes. We are on day 149 of our adoption process and we are enjoying every minute of it !!!
We have been so blessed to have been able to meet so many wonderful families throughout this process from everywhere in Canada that have been so helpful and continue to help us along our journey. A lot of the families are already home with their children and keep encouraging us by telling us families that are in the waiting stage that it does REALLY HAPPEN and that they have all gone through the "this feels like a dream" stage so its really nice to be able to relate to them and share our journeys in so many ways :)
As for all of the other families that are at the same stages as us, its really fun to wonder which family will be travelling to Ethiopia together to bring their children home. We cannot wait to see who our travelling families will be :) Something to look forward to for sure !!!
