Fundraising at the market !

Again we were fundraising at the local market this week-end. This time we did a bake sale and Cookies in a jar gifts that people could buy to give as gifts. We have lots of fun and got to meet a lot of people. Some had been to Africa, others sponsored children in Africa and the best of all, we met a 23-year old girl who works in an orphanage, where else in Africa. She was home visiting her parents and lives not very far from us. We exchanged emails and will certainly keep in touch !

Its always lots of fun to see the people that stop and ask questions about the humanitarian work that we will be doing with CHOIR. They seem to be truly interested when we say we are adopting as well and really we are bringing awareness in our community. The awareness is a big part of an adoption process when there are not any families in your community that have African children ! So anyways we did have a few bad comments as well but all the good comments compensate for the bad.... so all in all we have a great morning and we can't wait to go back in two weeks !!

A great big thanks to Julie and my mom for their cooking and for being at the market with me before 7 a.m. !
