LIGA school

This first video is how we were greated at the LIGA school !

The LIGA school is another one of CHOIR's programs. It stands for 'Light for Generation'.

It is a small school which had 150 children between the ages of 4-9. They are divided into three different classes of Kindergarten (K1, K2 and K3). Many of the children's mothers are single and work as day labourers to support their families. These children are at this school in preparation for public school as some of them have never been to school even if they are 9 years of age.

The teachers at this school we also very warm and loving with the children and so nice with us! When you arrive somewhere in Ethiopia, they all come to greet you and hug you and take your hands. It was amazing to see. We brought the children on a field trip one day and played ball and gave them all a banana for the snack, we all had a great time ! We also updated all of their files with new pictures for their sponsors here in Canada. I really want to visit the LIGA school again upon our return to Ethiopia later this year.

We had made bracelts for all the children (thanks to everyone that helped us) and we had brought candies as well. In the pictures above, the children are waiting for us to put their bracelets or eating their candies... the little girl in the second pictures was too precious.....

Here are a few more pictures of this school, the children and the field trip.

Here I was having the children sing their alphabet !

Here is another song that they loved to sing
